Initiative Participation
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced its participation in the global "Ring the Bell for LGBTIQ+ Equality" initiative at Pride Show 2026, working alongside TransTalents Consulting Group, UNDP Thailand, the UN Global Compact Network Thailand and Deutsche Bank.
The initiative encourages stock exchanges, listed companies and investors to embed LGBTQ+ inclusion principles in sustainable business development. Sixteen stock exchanges participated in the 2026 campaign, marking the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
Strategic Significance
Pannavadee Ladavalya Na Ayudhya, SET's senior executive vice-president and chief people officer, stated that markets function most effectively when all individuals have the opportunity to participate and contribute. The move complements Thailand's marriage equality law, which took effect earlier this year, and supports the country's bid to host WorldPride 2030.
Nikki Phinyapincha, founder of TransTalents Consulting Group, noted that the global LGBTQ+ economy is valued at approximately $4.7 trillion (about 157 trillion baht), making it the world's third-largest economy after the United States and China. Thailand's marriage equality law combined with its WorldPride 2030 bid could position the country as Asia's "rainbow economy" centre.
