Event Overview

Amsterdam will host WorldPride from July 25 through August 8, 2026, making it the first Dutch city to host this international celebration. Themed UNITY, the event seeks to demonstrate that solidarity and unity are essential to protecting equal rights at a time of increasing polarisation, pressure on democracy, and human rights violations.

WorldPride Amsterdam 2026 is more than a celebration; it is a global gathering bringing together LGBTIQ+ people, governments, civil society organisations, religious actors, businesses and allies from around the world to advance principles of diversity, inclusion and equality.

Historic Milestones

2026 holds particular significance for the Netherlands' LGBTQ+ rights movement, marking three significant anniversaries: 25 years of marriage equality for same-sex couples, 30 years of Amsterdam Pride, and 80 years of COC Nederland, a leading Dutch LGBTQ+ organisation. These milestones reflect decades of perseverance, international solidarity and cooperation.

Key Activities

The event will feature the renowned Canal Parade and an extensive program of cultural celebrations. As one of the world's most welcoming destinations for LGBTQIA+ people, Amsterdam will welcome visitors from around the world to experience an inclusive celebration during this historic gathering.
