FELGTBI+ President Paula Iglesias highlighted that civic mobilization is the only viable path toward social equity. While acknowledging that ILGA Europe ranks Spain as possessing advanced legislation, she stressed that real everyday equality remains far off. Iglesias petitioned for state measures to protect citizens against organized hate networks manifesting through conversion practices and attempts to roll back established rights.
COGAM President Ronny de la Cruz reminded the public that the Pride movement was born as a direct protest and serves as an indispensable tool for civil defense. He stated that basic civil rights are non-negotiable, calling on communities to demonstrate historical memory and resistance against reactionary groups seeking to push the community back into silence and fear.
