A male business traveler and a locally employed part-time worker engaged in an illegal same-sex commercial transaction inside a local hotel. Following a heated dispute regarding the duration of the service, the interaction escalated into a violent physical altercation, resulting in both individuals being placed under administrative detention by law enforcement.
The case involved a 45-year-old male, identified under the pseudonym Chen, who worked as a corporate sales representative and had traveled independently to Jiangning District on business. Compounded by loneliness during his travel, Chen posted a meeting solicitation on internet forums and chat groups, which quickly drew a response from a 25-year-old underemployed male under the pseudonym Lyu. The two individuals bypassed ambiguity online and directly negotiated a commercial sex agreement, with Chen agreeing to pay RMB 1,000, a price Lyu accepted. At approximately 8:00 PM that evening, Lyu arrived at Chen’s hotel room as scheduled, and after a brief greeting, the two proceeded with the prearranged illicit sexual encounter.
However, the situation deteriorated rapidly after the transaction concluded approximately 15 minutes later. Chen withdrew ten RMB 100 bills from his wallet and handed them to Lyu, intending to settle the transaction quickly so he could rest for an early business engagement the following morning. Upon counting the currency, Lyu grew visibly hostile, threw the money onto the table, and demanded an additional payment.
