Fatal Incident Triggers Raid: Prior to the main operations, police learned that a 31-year-old Chinese-Malaysian man had lost consciousness after allegedly participating in a drug party inside a hotel room. He was carried down to the hotel lobby and rushed to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police subsequently raided the room he had occupied, arresting 8 individuals and seizing small amounts of ketamine and ecstasy, which led to further tracking of other rooms.
Raids and Arrests: Acting on intelligence, law enforcement executed four consecutive operations at the hotel between 2:35 AM and 5:00 AM. A total of 51 men suspected of attending "drug parties" and "gay parties" were detained, comprising 23 Malaysian nationals and 28 foreign nationals aged between 21 and 52. Authorities stated that the group utilized luxury hotel suites for entertainment, substance consumption, and immoral activities.
Narcotics Seizure and Drug Testing: During the raids, officers confiscated 1.15 kg of liquid ecstasy, 284 grams of powdered ecstasy, 8.56 grams of ecstasy pills, 8.7 grams of ecstasy powder, and 11.61 grams of ketamine, with a total estimated value of RM103,070. Initial urine screenings revealed that 36 suspects tested positive for drugs, 15 tested negative, and one individual was found to have a prior narcotics-related criminal record.
Legal Proceedings: All suspects have been remanded for a period of 3 to 6 days. Police are conducting a comprehensive investigation under Sections 39B, 39A(1), 12(2), and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
