West Midlands Police have confirmed that a formal charge has been brought against a man in connection with an investigation into sexual abuse allegations at an LGBTQ+-affirming church in Birmingham, advancing the case into the judicial process.


The accused, Peter Brookes, aged 50, is a resident of Tipton in the West Midlands. He faces two counts of sexual assault in relation to alleged incidents that took place at Inclusive Gathering Birmingham, known as IGB, during the period between 2021 and 2023. Authorities confirmed that Brookes has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear before magistrates on 6 May.
